35th Annual Wilton Founders Day

The 35th Annual Wilton Founders Day celebration will be held Friday and Saturday, August 21st & 22nd in downtown Wilton!

The carnival this year is Superior Equipment. Advanced tickets can be purchased up until 4 p.m. On Friday from Community Bank, Central State Bank and the Chamber office.

On Friday, August 21st starting at 4:30 p.m. There will be vendors, food vendors, Beverage garden, and carnival rides. New will be happy hour from 5-7 with free admission, ½ price beer tickets, after 7 p.m. tickets will be valid using two tickets. The chamber will sponsor a businss after hours with free admission and wine & beer tasting for chamber members from 5-7! Chamber members, please contact chamber office if you are going to attend! $10 charge to the public for the wine/beer tasting! After 7 p.m. there will be a $3.00 charge to enter the beverage garden!

Also from 5-7 under the Beer tent will be Buddy Olson for your entertainment while Happy Hour/Business After Hours is going on! Be sure to come down for this! On the TOYOTA OF MUSCATINE STAGE from 8 – Midnight will be NORTH OF FORTY for your dancing enjoyment! From 9-11 p.m. Spanky the mechanical bull will be under the elder park shelter. Don’t miss this, should be a lot of fun!

 

 

Saturday, August 22nd events begin at 8:00 a.m. With the Eager Beaver 5K Walk/Run. This event is open to all ages and awards are given to top finishers. The 1-mile race for the kids begins at 9:00 a.m. Shirts and participation ribbons are available for all runners and walkers. Registration will begin at 6:45 a.m. WATCH FOR A LOCATION SIGN!!!

Don't forget to stop by the Wilton Historic Depot, which will be open from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. To view a VIDEO OF WILTON 1986. The depot will be closed for the parade, but immediately following the parade there will be an open house for the Grand Marshal.

Superior Equipment carnival rides will open at 12:00 p.m.

The 14th Annual Car Show is will be held on 4th and Maurer Streets from 11 a.m. To 4 p.m. Registration starts at 10 a.m.
At 2:00 p.m. Is the Wilton Founder's Day Parade, with this year’s theme being “CLASSIC MOVIES”! Grand Marshal for the parade will be Dwayne Lenker! NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 CAN OPERATE ATV’S OR MOTORIZED VEHICLES! Everyone is encouraged to participate, especially our youth; you can register the day of the parade at the Wilton High School parking lot starting at 12:15 p.m. 
Parade winners will be posted in the Chamber windows as soon as the judges have made their decisions. AGAIN, DON'T FORGET TO STOP DOWN AT THE DEPOT FOR AN OPEN HOUSE FOR THE GRAND MARSHAL!

The Beverage Garden will open following the parade. THERE IS A $3.00 COVER AND YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE TO ENTER!

Bingo – will only be run on Saturday from 3:15 – 7:00 p.m. In the Wilton Community Room.

Also following the parade at 4:30 p.m. In the Beverage Garden is the 2-person Corn Hole Tournament. Entry forms are available at the Chamber office or download one at www.wiltoniowa.org. Check in time is 4:00 p.m.

3:50 – 4:00 p.m. The Wilton Stepperettes will be performing at the Basketball court.

4:00 – 5:00 the Samantha’s Dance Academy will show you their stuff.

“Adam Beck” will be in the Beverage Garden from 5:00 – 7:00 under the Beer Tent!

To end the evening on the TOYOTA OF MUSCATINE STAGE, come listen and dance from 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. To music provided by “TWO BUCK CHUCK”. It should be a great time!

On Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. There will be a Community Church service at the Wilton City Park. Be sure to attend!

Once again, starting at 11:00 a.m. Is the Wahkonsa Memorial Golf Tournament at Wahkonsa Country Club. (4 person best shot)

There are entry forms for the following events: Eager Beaver Run; Car Show; Flea Market, Crafts and Food Vendors, and the 2-Person Corn Hole Tournament.
