The Freedom Rock Smorgasbord was a wonderful memorial and celebration, and 375 people enjoyed the 25-cent meal!
Many thanks to everyone who attended & to all the local fire departments that participated in the water hose battles.
We are so thankful to all the individuals, businesses, City departments, sponsors and prize donors who made Smorgasbord a success:

Tallgrass Archaeology has prepared the first draft of the Intensive Level Survey of the Wilton Historic Neighborhoods. Please review and send us any corrections you see.
Wilton Certified Local Government Commission (WCLGC) has been working on a designation as National Historic Neighborhoods for areas around Maurer Street and around Fifth and Sixth Streets.
WCLGC will hold a public meeting Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the Wilton Public Library, with Ray Werner, a historian from Tallgrass Archaeology. Everyone is invited, especially homeowners, members of the public who would like to volunteer with the project, and anyone interested in historic houses.
Wilton Certified Local Government Commission (WCLGC) was established in 2017 to support, promote and identify historic districts, sites and buildings in our community. Since that time, we have completed many projects such as working with an historian to do an intensive level survey and then list Wilton’s downtown commercial district on the National Register.
I’m always worried when I want to thank people and I might leave a name out….so I’ll just give many, many thank-yous to our wonderful sponsors and many volunteers for their time, talent, and treasure to ensure that the Wilton Founders Day Event thrives and prospers!
The fact is, this yearly event would never happen without sponsor, volunteer, and community support. Special thanks to Hy-Line North America, who single-handedly sponsored the very popular Fun Zone.
