"HILLBILLY CHRISTMAS" is the theme for this year's Window Walk and Parade in Wilton, sponsored by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce. Please consider joining us on this special night, Sunday, December 2, 2007, to celebrate the Holiday Season! The Chamber is still looking for windows! Santa and Mrs. Claus’s arrival is going to be a Christmas Parade starting at 5 p.m. The parade route will start at the Wilton Post Office on Fourth St, and will end at the former Campbell Chiropractic office (121 W. 4th St.), where Santa will visit with the children in the Community until 6:30 p.m. Santa would love to see crowded streets for his Grand Entrance. So let’s all show up to welcome Santa!
There will be a Tour of Homes this year! The homes to be toured are: Vickie Lenker – 605 W. Wate St.; Dan & Michelle Marine – 110 E. 5th St., Gene & Deb Taylor – 2735 120th St.; John & Kim Brown – 2683 122nd St. Tickets will be sold at each home for $5.00! The hours are 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Proceeds will be to the Wilton Library/Community Center project. Please come out and tour these beautiful homes!
Duffe Grain will be giving hayrack rides along with Central State Bank & Subway who will be sponsoring FREE Horse-drawn wagon tours of the Wilton Parade of Christmas Lights. Steve Shirk will also be available for FREE Horse & Carriage rides. To ride any of these, you can board on Railroad St. in front of the Depot!
The Window Walk will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. WE NEED WINDOWS! Please let the Chamber office know if you are doing a window! The categories are as follows: BEST WINDOW, JUDGES CHOICE AND MOST ORIGINAL. The winners of these categories will receive Chamber gift certificates! There will also be a gift certificate given to the parade entry for Best Theme!
The Moscow Friendly 4-H club will be in the lower level of the Community Bank to do craft items with the area children. So please bring your children or grandchildren to see how creative they can be. The Family, Career & Community Leaders of America will be at the Community Bank also to decorate Christmas Cookies with the children also. This should be fun for everyone!
The Wilton Boy Scouts will be at the Community room from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. serving soup. Yum that will hit the spot on a winter evening! Don’t miss the FFA’s LIVE NATIVITY!!!
The Chamber will be selling popcorn in the Chamber office for a price of 50 cents a bag!
The Wilton Historical Society will be sponsoring their “CHRISTMAS TREE EXTRAVAGANZA” again this year. Please be sure and stop by the Depot to see all the trees. Also be sure to check out how beautiful the Depot looks this time of year! If you would like to do a tree, please contact Mary Bollinger (732-3258) or Dwayne Lenker (732-2253). The time for this event is 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
